Basically neutrality of state we called secularism today we are not see much secularism among us this is happens because indian politics is diverted from peoples welfare to political welfare. Most of the indian political parties spread wrong message, romurs and false comments for increasing their vote bank. Secularism is not a standalone concept, it flows from Article 14 of the constitution ,which guarantees equality. No one shall be discriminated against on the basis of birth into a class, caste, gender or religion community or for her sexual preferences. This was the intention of the founder of democracy in india, and this is what secularism should be understood as- as related to democracy.

SECULARISM IN INDIA

Secularism is social process that involve the Privatisation of religion, as in Europe after the enlightenment secularism is not the binary opposite of Communalism. The opposite of communalism is religious harmony.secularism is the diametric opposite of theocracy or the merging of two two awesome forms of power- the non religious and the religious.Secularism ensures that the sate is not aligned to any one religion, that al religious communities are treated with equal care and consideration, that no community is granted special advantage because it is in a numerical majority. Similarly, it ensures that no religion is discriminated against just because its numbers are smaller than the majority community.Secularism extend the principle of equality.

Democracy and secularism are companion concepts, because of their shared commitments of to basic values such as freedom, equality, and justice this dose not imply that secularism can be collapsed into democracy. Indian society is fractured in many ways like caste, class and gender. We need different sorts of strategies to deal with different kind of inequalities and oppression. The challenge to secularism has not come from personal faith or religion, but from religious groups that struggle for power and political interest.
